My class was running a gay bar and I was working as a waitress wearing girls clothes, when she came in as a customer.

Back then, we didn't have any cell phones and the like, so I'd half given up on her,
but gave her a piece of paper with my phone number on it anyway.

Even so, she kept calling me almost every week.
I eventually mustered up my courage to ask her out on a date, and she even said "I'd love to hang out with you.",
but we simply couldn't match our schedules.
She had a curfew of 8pm, and went to cram school almost everyday,
while I was often busy with club activities.
Still, every week, we'd talk about how we'd have a date someday.
And every time, we'd get interrupted by her mother's angry voice.

Before soon, it was the season for university entrance exams.
I was in a private school that didn't have any required exams at the end of each grade, but I'd decided to apply for a university anyway.

To be honest, I hadn't studied much in the years before that, and I certainly wasn't good enough to get accepted at a university without any studying.
(I wasn't going to apply for Tokyo University though, so all I had to do was get 40 out of 100 points in every test, but even that seemed impossible for mew)
I was starting to get desperate.
I know I should have done more in the previous years if I was going to apply for an university,
but I figured I wouldn't get a good job if I applied for some shitty university, and decided to give it my all.

It was a time when I wasn't even sure if I'd make it into university, and I was kinda panicking, so I said,
"I do want to focus on studying right now." without thinking much about it.
After a short pause, she said "I see... Well, good luck with your entrance exams." and hung up.
Even before her angry mother shouted at her.
